The Vocational Education & Training sector in Australia describes all courses as a set series of "Units of Competency". These units predetermine what is to be measured to ensure the student is competent in that topic. Â The curriculum listed above reflects the learning modules that underpin the knowledge base required for students to attain competency in the Units of Competency that comprise each award. For information on the Units of Competency achieved in each of these awards please refer to the Units of Competency tables located at the back of this Catalogue.
Southland Training offers elective streams in the following areas:
- Cell Church Ministry
- Children's Ministry
- Church Planting

- Youth Work
- Community Service
These elective streams are achieved through self-directed study & project work throughout the course. The elective stream may then be followed to higher level awards. For a list of competencies relating to your elective stream please see Units of Competency tables on the courses page.
